Thursday, August 6- Rossatz to Pochlaran , rode 32 miles, temperature over 100 degrees.

Amidst small, dreamy villages, apricot trees, vineyards, castles, monasteries and ruins, this gentle hilly landscape enchants everybody. A powerful ruin looms above the small Baroque town of Durnstein, while the blue tower of the monastery church is a landmark of Wachau.

We started our day in Rossatz where we traveled across the bridge to Durnstein. Once in Durnstein, Jo's favorite town, we spent about an hour walking around. We continued biking after an hour and stopped again at Saint Michael Church.

Once back at the boat, Anna and Jo decided they were going to go for a walk. As they were getting ready to leave Anna realized she couldn’t find her wallet, which had her passport in it. Anna and Jo went right away to the cruise ship director, who helped by making phone calls and trying to help Anna retract her steps as to where she might have left her wallet. The police ended up coming onto the ship and getting a report from Anna. Anna showed them on a map where she thought she had left her wallet in the small town of Spitz, 30 minutes away. Anna, Jo, and now Pat waited anxiously as the police called the police in Spitz to see if they could find the wallet after over an hour from start to finish. The wallet was finally found with no cash missing and Anna’s passport still in there! The police in Spitz said they would meet the other police officers halfway to get Anna's wallet. The police told the ship captain the ship couldn’t leave the port until they returned with Anna’s wallet. Once the police returned, everybody aboard, clapped and applaud for the police. It was a very stressful ordeal.
